As the chill now slowly is taking place of our warm summer days, it can only mean one thing: time for football. Nate is now old enough to play, though only in flag football. Today was our first game, and it was rough. A team of 1st graders who'd never played an organized game of football, along with a coach (me) who'd never coached a team before made for quite a scene. Nate got upset that he was only able to score one touchdown, and his mother and I had to school him in the fact that the other team had obviously played before and that despite his remarkable athletic ability, some times he was going to get his flags pulled. He did have two great runs that resulted in touchdowns, which likely contributed to his frustration later in the game when he kept getting stopped.
